SIDNEY — Warmer weather means the orange construction barrels will be lining local interstates and highways as the Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 begins its 2017 projects.
The following closures are currently in effect for the week of April 24–30:
Auglaize County
• State Route 196 between Sunrise Drive and Fairmount Road, road closure, April 24–28. The official detour is state Route 117 to state Route 67 to state Route 196
Miami County
• State Route 55 between state Route 201 and state Route 235, road closure, April 26 to May 3. The official detour is state Route 55 to state Route 589 to US 36 to state Route 235 to state Route 55
• State Route 41 between state Route 201 and state Route 235, road closure, April 24 to May 1. The official detour is: state Route 41 to state Route 201 to state Route 571 to state Route 235 to state Route 41
• Interstate 75 between County Road 25A (Troy) and US 36, Shoulder closures through Oct. 31.
• I-75 between County Road 25A (Troy) and US 36, Nightly lane closures through April 29 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.
• I-75 south between County Road 25A (Troy) and US 36, Daily Shoulder closures throught June 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• I-75 between County Road 25A (Piqua) and US 36, Lane width restrictions through June 15. Lanes are restricted to 12 feet. Two lanes will remain open in each direction.
• Statler Road between Cromes Drive and Free Road, road closure through June 15, 2017. The official detour is: Cromes Drive/Looney Road to US 36 to Troy-Sidney Road to Statler Road.
Shelby County
• State Route 66 between Enterprise Drive and Greenback Road, road closure through May 23. The official detour is state Route 47 to I-75 to state Route 29 to state Route 705.
Upcoming closures include:
• Shelby – state Route 274 between Staley Road and Wenger Road, road closure May 1–3. The official detour is I-75 to state Route 119 to state Route 29 to state Route 274.
• Shelby – state Route 274 between state Route 29 and Lucas-Geib Road, road closure May 4–9. The official detour is I-75 to state Route 119 to state Route 29 to state Route 274.
ODOT closures focus on Interstate, US and State routes. For information on local roads you will need to contact the county, city or township where the road is located. Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming closure. All work is weather permitting. Safety is a top priority at ODOT. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
