Ninja Obstacle Fitness Challenge coming to Shelby County Fair

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Fair will be hosting a Ninja Obstacle Fitness Challenge beginning on July 23. The challenge is open to the public and has three age categories, each with a different registration fee.

The registration fee for youth ages 9-14 is $20, youth ages 15-18 is $30, and adults age 19 and up is $30. The registration fee includes a qualifying run and an admission ticket to the fair.

Qualifying times will take place from Sunday, July 23, until Friday, July 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Finals times will begin on Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m.

Cash prizes will be given to the top five finishers of each age group, and the first place finishers from each age group will automatically be entered into the finals of the Hancock County Fair.

First place finishers in age groups 15-18 and 19 and up will receive $500, while the first place finisher in the 9-14 age group will receive $300. Second place in all age groups will receive $250, third place will receive $125, fourth place $75, and fifth place $50.

The course will be located next to the Gazebo at the fairgrounds, and will feature a 14-foot tall obstacle warped wall that competitors will have to overcome.

Every person who registers for the event is required to read and sign a waiver and the course rules before they are allowed to participate. The waiver and full registration can be completed at the Shelby County Fair Office. Participants must register before July 10.
