Dancers crowned national champions

NEW BREMEN — Dancers from Boyd Dance Studios in New Bremen have been named the best in the nation at the Nationals in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Boyd Dance Studios earned the top spot as Grand Shootout “Best of the Best” Champions. The Shootout Championships consisted of the Top 8 competitive numbers out of 400 plus competing numbers, over four days of National Competition. The team also earned numerous top honors in overall awards, judges choice awards, choreography and entertainment honors. They weere judged by top choreographers in the industry.

Taking the Top Overall Grand Shootout “Best of the Best Championship” award, as well as earning the Outstanding Entertainment Award at Nationals were members of the Boyd Dance Studio Performing Arts Company Production Company (age 11-12) included dancers Drew Alt, Lexi Blaine, Alaina Bruns, Sarah Condon, Elizabeth Eiting, Keshia Filadelfo, Bekett Goubeaux, Kaitlyn Grillot, Piper Hays, Brooklyn Homan, Franky Jellison, Jett Jellison, Charly Jellison, Morgan Ketner, Katie Kogge, Mikaylee Limbert, Maddie McClurg, Cameo Middendorf, Colin Miltner, Jessica Miltner, Shelby Ranly, Chloe Schwartz, Janessa Smuts, Zoe Stricker, Alexis Stueve, Gabrielle Terpstra, Rylin Trego, Layne Voisard, Jordan Ward and Madison Williams. Other honors won by the Production Company were Double Platinum Dance Awards, and first Top Overall.

Boyd Dance Studio soloists, trio and groups received many top honors, overall winnings, Judges Choice Awards and Title Awards. Representing in the Junior Solo (10-12 age) Division were Charly Jellison, Alexis Steuve, Gabrielle Terpstra, and Layne Voisard receiving overall placements. In the Trio division Charly Jellison, Alexis Stueve, and Gabrielle Terpstra took the 2nd Top Overall spot in their division.

In the Teen Solo (13-15 age) Division, Jordan Ward received Top Overall placement and Shootout placement and Shelby Ranly earned Judges Choice awards as well as the “One Dance Intensive” Scholarship to study this Fall in Oklahoma.

Representing the Senior Solo (16-18 age) Division was Drew Alt, Keshia Filadelfo, and Chloe Schwartz receiving Top Overall placements and Sarah Condon receiving first runner-up in the National Grand Shootout Competition.

The BDS Performing Arts Company small and large groups dominated throughout Nationals with numerous Double Platinums and Platinum Awards, Judges Choice awards, top overalls and shootout placements.

Representing the youngest Petite (5-6 age) Large group Division and placing in the Petite division of the Shoot Out Championships were Bekett Goubeaux, Piper Hays, Brooklyn Homan, Franky Jellison, Mikaylee Limbert, Johonna McClintock and Janessa Smuts.

Representing the youngest Petite (7-8 age) Small Group Division also placing in the Petite Shootout Championships were Alaina Bruns, Jett Jellison, Cameo Middendorf, Colin Miltner, Zoe Stricker, Whitney Trego and Madison Williams.

In the Junior (10-12 age) group Jazz & Tap Division taking Platinum and Overall Awards were Charly Jellison, Morgan Ketner, Maddie McClurg, Jessica Miltner, Alexis Stueve, Gabrielle Terpstra, Rylin Trego, Jett Jellison, Colin Miltner, Cameo Middendorf, Zoe Stricker, Whitney Trego and Maddison Williams.

Representing the Teen & Senior (13-18 age) Division groups in Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical were Sarah Condon, Elizabeth Eiting, Katilyn Grillot, Charly Jellison, Katie Kogge, Maddie McClurg, Shelby Ranly, Chloe Schwartz, Alexis Stueve, Gabrielle Terpstra, Rylin Trego, Jordan Ward, Drew Alt, Lexi Blaine, Layne Voisard and Keshia Filadelfo earning Top Overall Awards and Shootout placement.

Additional BDS Performing Arts Company members competing during the Regional competition season were Tara Kremer, Kalle Halko, Aurora Lauterbach.

Boyd Dance Studios has students on their PAC Team which represent the communities of New Bremen, Minster, Fort Loramie, Russia, Versailles, St Henry, Coldwater, St Marys, New Knoxville, Anna and Sidney.
