SIDNEY – Organizers of the Ninth Annual Free to be a Kid Day, set for Aug. 26, are seeking local groups to help bring a day of fun for youngsters at the VanDemark Farm/Lost Land Corn Maze. The plan is to provide free games, activities, food, and a trip through the corn maze, all at no cost.

The free event, sponsored by 1055TAM-FM of Sidney, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and is open to the public. VanDemark Farm is located at 2401 S. Vandemark Road. There will also be bounce houses, and putt-putt golf. Reduced prices on the zipline and giant swing will also be offered.

TAM General Manager Loretta Kinney reports groups and organizations that are associated with children or teenagers now can obtain a free booth at the event. The only requirement is that they have an activity for children at the booth.

“Since we started ‘Free to Be a Kid Day’ one of our goals has been to provide a day for families to come, enjoy an afternoon, and not worry about breaking their budget,” said Kinney. “The second goal was to have children programs, organizations, troops and clubs set up a booth introducing what they can provide to the children to the parents who may not know how to get their children involved.”

She added, “The Free to Be a Kid Day event is just one of the unique ways that 105.5 TAM FM gives back to our community.”

The deadline for registering for a booth is Aug. 23. For more information, contact Michelle Harter by calling 937-492-1270 ext. 5.
