Crash sends 1 to hospital

RUSSIA — A Piqua man was cited following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Russia Versailles Road in Loramie Township.

Adam David Stubbs, 25, was cited for improper passing by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Stubbs was eastbound in the 3000 block of Russia Versailles Road when he attempted to pass a vehicle driven by Robert D. Wright-O’Dell, 25, of Covington.

Wright-O’Dell was negotiating a left hand turn into a private drive at 3535 Russia Versailles Road as Stubbs began to pass him. Stubbs’ vehicle struck Wright-O’Dell’s vehicle in the driver’s side.

According to the report, the point of impact was located in the westbound lane, indicating Wright-O’Dell had established the right-of-way.

After impact, Stubbs’ vehicle continued of the north side of the road, through a fence and yard at 3535 Russia Versailles Road, causing damage to the property.

Wright-O’Dell was trapped in his vehicle. He was extricated by Russia Fire. He was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center by Houston Rescue.

A passenger in Wright-O’Dell’s vehicle, Devon Austin Davis, 19, of Covington, was also injured in the crash.
