Sidney City Schools to enforce parking at athletic events

0

SIDNEY – Sidney City Schools is asking patrons of sporting and other events outside of the school day to not park vehicles in unauthorized areas of the Sidney City Schools campus. These areas include fire lanes, grass areas, and any area blocking a school entrance or loading dock.

These rules protect the district’s facilities that are in part maintained by local residents’ tax dollars, as well as prevent damage to vehicles and not block other patrons. The district has spent much time and many resources repairing damaged areas where people have parked in the grass; additionally the ruts often created create safety hazards for students and patrons walking in the grass, as well as the maintenance crews when they are mowing.

Handicap parking is available and should you need special access parking, contact the Athletic Department.

The district will begin to enforce this with warning tickets, followed by actual tickets and towing. Drivers are asked to follow all signage and only park in authorized areas.
