ODOT seeking public comments on upcoming projects

SIDNEY — The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

CHP-68-0523, No PID – ODOT proposes to permit installation of turn lanes at the proposed Urbana school facility on US 68, south of Urbana. This work will also require the donation of land as public right-of-way to accommodate widened roadway. The proposed turn lanes will improve safety and reduce congestion at the new school facility.

D07-RW VAR(B), PID 100431 – ODOT proposes to acquire right-of-way at two existing culvert systems located in Auglaize and Mercer Counties. The project is necessary to bring the existing culvert systems fully into the public right-of-way and allow for necessary maintenance on the deteriorated culverts.

LOG-273-0002, PID 99857 – ODOT proposes to rehabilitate the existing bridge on SR 273 over the Long Island Boat Channel in Indian Lake. The project is necessary to address the deteriorated condition of the structure. Traffic on SR 273 will be maintained.

LOG-33-0696/0641L, PID 99861 – ODOT will rehabilitate the LOG-US 33-0696 structure over Cherokee Man’s Run and will remove the substructure of the defunct LOG-US 33-0641L structure. The project will address the deterioration of the active LOG-US 33-0696 structure and will remove the unneeded LOG-US 33-0641L structure.

MIA-Troy Recreation Trail, PID 100778 – The city of Troy proposes to resurface three segments of the Troy Recreation Tail; a signed detour will be provided during paving activities. As part of the project, the City of Troy will designate or acquire rights to the underlying trail land (including portions of Hook Park and Miami Shores Golf Course), to allow to ensure public access and allow for future maintenance. The project is necessary to address the deteriorated condition of the trail.

SHE-47-1451, PID 104615 – The city of Sidney proposes to undertake safety improvements on SR 47, from Fourth Avenue to Walnut Street. The previously proposed roundabout and road diet have been eliminated from the proposed project. The project will require minor acquisition from Highland Park.

Issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Comments should be submitted by Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017.
