‘The Little Mermaid’ swims into Botkins

BOTKINS — The Botkins High School Drama Department will be performing Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” in the school’s junior high gym Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-12. The show features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright.

Performance times are Friday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and free for senior citizens and preschool children. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the school or at the door.

The cast includes students from grades 4 through 12.

There are also many students working behind the scenes. The show’s directors include Paula Owen, Olivia Schneider, Margie Haehn and Keith Puschel.

Botkins students have choreographed the show. To add to the excitement, there will be raffle tickets available, five tickets for $1, to win “The Little Mermaid” DVD’s, an Ariel piggy bank and two Hallmark Keepsake ornaments.
