Starting Farmers meet at Fairgrounds

SIDNEY — The Starting Farmers 4-H Club met on June 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s report were read and accepted. Members voted and decided to build the walls of the fair booth. Advisers informed members that chickens cannot be brought to the fair this year due to the avian flu, so instead members taking chicken projects are to make a poster with pictures.

The club then voted to nominate Zoe Crist for Clinton Township junior fair board representative. Emily Hollinger gave a quilting demonstration showing different types of stitches. Jenica Browning shared about her photography project. Brendan Bowmen gave tips about what to do at fair judging.

The project tour will be on July 19 at Juanita Hoaglin’s house at 5 p.m. Members should bring project books to the next meeting on July 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
