Conservation banquet planned for Dec. 1

SIDNEY — The Shelby Soil and Water Conservation District’s 70th Annual Meeting and Banquet will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016. The event will be held at St. Michael’s Hall in Fort Loramie. A two meat buffet with all the trimmings, including pie, will be served at 7 p.m. Voting for the election of two Board of Supervisor positions will take place from 6:30 p.m until 7:15 p.m.

Steve Berning, Bill Maxson and Tom Seger will be running for two open seats on the Board of Supervisors. Those elected will each serve three year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2017.

This year’s banquet will feature local comedian and juggler, Craig Muhlenkamp, of Russia, Ohio. Muhlenkamp will weave a conservation message into his performance.

After dinner the Outstanding Cooperator of the Year and Outstanding Conservation Educators of the Year will be introduced. The District staff will share a presentation about the past year’s activities and accomplishments of your local Soil and Water Conservation District.

Tickets are on sale at only $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Contact the office, 937-492-6520, ext. 3, or any supervisor or staff member to purchase tickets. Please purchase or reserve tickets by Wednesday, Nov. 16.
