It’s time to report planted acreage

0

In order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements to receive program benefits, all producers are encouraged to visit the Shelby County FSA office to file a crop certification report for all crops planted on the farm. All soybeans, corn, oats, vegetable crops, grain sorghum and CRP acreage must be reported no later than July 15, 2017 for the current crop year.

Those who failed to report planted acres of wheat and fall-seeded small grains by December 15, 2016 and perennial forage crops by November 15, 2016, to be harvested in 2017, will be charge a late file fee at this time.

If bad weather has prevented the planting of acreage, we at FSA would like to remind producers to report the unplanted acreage to the FSA office within 15 days of the final planting date of the crop. Additionally, a CCC-576, Notice of Loss Application, must be completed in person at the FSA office for the prevented acres reported. This applies to all crops, whether covered or not by crop insurance.

If you feel the acreage you have planted has failed, you must also contact the FSA office and complete the above listed forms. Producers who have their crops insured through a private crop insurance company should contact the insurance agent immediately and advise them of the damaged crops also.

We strongly encourage you to make an appointment to report all planted acreage as soon as planting is completed. There are many persons to service in a short period of time and an appointment would save you time. Please call the office at 937-492-6520 as soon as you are done planting for your certification appointment.
