Brookside CEO announces retirement

NEW BREMEN — Mark Flock, Brookside Laboratories Inc. president/CEO, has announced his retirement, effective July 1.

Flock, of Sidney, has spent 34 years at Brookside as agronomist/laboratory director and CEO. Current agronomist/laboratory specialist, Dr. Luke Baker, will assume the CEO/president’s duties at that time. Baker, of Jackson Center, earned his doctorate degree in soil chemistry from Kansas State University. He has been an agronomist/laboratory specialist at Brookside since 2009. He resides in rural New Knoxville with his wife, Sarah, and their son, Mason.

Dr. Chris Eidson will join Brookside, Jan. 1, as an agronomist/laboratory specialist. Eidson will graduate with his doctorate in environmental/soil science from the Ohio State University School of Environmental and Natural Resources. Eidson resides with his wife, Marcie, and their two children in Bucyrus. He will relocate to the New Bremen area.

Brookside Laboratories Inc. in New Bremen is one of the nation’s largest testing laboratories providing agricultural, sports turf and environmental testing services to private consultants and universities worldwide. Brookside was established in 1951.
