COLUMBUS — Efficiency Smart, an organization based in Columbus that helps residents of its partner villages use less energy, has provided a convenient way for those residents to switch to efficient lighting.

It has made available Greenlite LED lightbulbs at a price of $1 to customers of Jackson Center Municipal Electric System, Lakeview Water and Light Co., village of Minster Utilities Department and village of Versailles Utitlities.

In Jackson Center, the bulbs can be purchased at Jackson Center Pharmacy, 101 E Pike St. Lakeview residents can buy the bulbs and Downtown Discount Grocery, 115 N. Main St., Lakeview. Kuenning’s Western Ohio True Value, 4405 state Route 66, Minster will sell the bulbs to local residents there. And in Versailles, residents can buy the bulbs at Ace Hardware, 337 Marker Road.

Replacing incandescent lightbulbs with LED equivalents is a simple way to save money on utility bills. LEDs last up to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs and can save consumers $90 or more over their lifetime.

There is a limit of eight bulbs per customer at the discounted price, and the offer is only valid while supplies last. For information, visit www.efficiencysmart.org.
