ST. MARYS — The Joint Township District Hospital Foundation recently elected Dan Burke to its board of directors.

The foundation is the fund raising arm of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and is an affiliate of the Grand Lake Health System. The foundation’s mission is to secure funds for the benefit of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

Burke was born and raised in St. Marys and has been a principle in the RJ Burke Insurance Agency since 1979. He is active at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he has been on several councils and committees and is currently in the church choir. He is a member of the James O Byrne Knights of Columbus, the St. Marys Rotary Club serving as president twice and chairman of the membership committee and orientation committee. In 2011, he received the St. Marys Rotary Club’s Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2015, Burke was the recipient of the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Builder of Bridges award. He is a past member of the Ohio Mutual Insurance Group’s Agent’s Advisory Council and a member of the Ohio Insurance Association and past member of its Agent’s Resource Council. He is currently the secretary/treasurer of the Roughrider Philanthropic Association.
