Lima — Brett Stein has been elected business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 32.

Stein is a third-generation IBEW member, who was initiated into the union, Feb. 2, 1989. He replaces Larry Cox who retired in July after a 46-year career with Local 32, the last six years as business manager.

IBEW Local 32 covers Allen, Auglaize, Van Wert, Shelby, Logan, Wyandot, Putnam, Hardin and Mercer counties. It was chartered, Nov. 23, 1898, just seven years after the formation of the IBEW. Local 32 has been training and supplying the greater-Lima area with skilled electricians for the past 119 years and cut the ribbon on a new IBEW/NECA Electrical Training Center in Lima last year.
