THURSDAY

-12:38 a.m.: OVI. Nathaniel L. Collett, 26, 811 Arrowhead Drive, Apt. F, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and operating a vehicle with BAC in excess of .17 breath following a vehicle stop at North Main Avenue and Canal Street.

WEDNESDAY

-9:59 p.m.: burglary. Pamela K. Ritchie, 1546 Spruce St., reported someone tried to break into her house between 1:30 and 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. Damage to a door and its frame was set at $300.

-8:49 p.m.: domestic violence. Chiane A. Sowders, 500 N. Vandemark Road, reported she was assaulted.

-5:42 p.m.: theft. Jenise R. Exley, 645 St. Marys Ave., reported the theft of Ruger LCR .357 Magnum and speed reloader between 6 p.m. on July 4 and 5:42 p.m. Wednesday. The gun was valued at $500.

-3:43 p.m.: aggravated menacing. Pamela D. Morgan, 121 W. Poplar St., reported someone threatened to harm her.

TUESDAY

-12:07 p.m.: theft. Tabatha M. Nichols, Piqua, reported the theft of a central air unit from 215 E. Water St., between June 23 and July 1. The item was valued at $1,800.

MONDAY

-3:24 p.m.: burglary. Danny L. Adams Jr., 228 ½ N. Main Ave., reported someone broke into his house between 7 a.m. July 3 and 3:24 p.m. July 6. A refrigerator and pictures of a wolf were taken and were found on Monday. Also taken was a set of locks, valued at $20, frozen food, valued at $100, bathroom tissue, valued at $15, and family pictures, valued at $1. Those items were not found.

Accidents

Shriji Suresh Thakker, 17, Seven Hills, Ohio, was cited for right-of-way from a private drive of alley and stopping after an accident following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at 3:18 p.m.

Thakker was traveling westbound in the alley to the south of 303 E. Poplar St. when he failed to stop existing the alley onto Miami Avenue. A vehicle driven by Caitlyn D. Denise, 22, 1139 Hamilton Court, was traveling northbound on North Miami Avenue and struck Thakker’s vehicle as it pulled into the street.

Thakker left the scene of the accident, leaving behind the front license plate. He returned to the scene more than an hour later and was cited.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

• Angela Botkin, 50, Wapakoneta, was cited for a red light violation following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at 2:47 p.m.

Botkin was westbound on Court Street when she failed to stop for a red light and struck a vehicle driven by Lora Eutsler, 43, 612 Michigan St., who was traveling southbound on Walnut Street.

Both vehicles sustained damage in the accident.

• Randy Francis, 48, of Piqua, was cited for right-of-way when turning left following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at 11:35 a.m.

Francis was traveling westbound on Ohio 47 when he attempted to turn left into an alley and struck a vehicle driven by James Carnes Jr., 39, 2551 Apache Drive., who was going eastbound on Ohio 47. Francis told the officer that the left lane of vehicles had stopped so he could turn into the alley but Carnes continued eastbound. He said he didn’t see the Carnes vehicle when he was turning. Carnes had the right-of-way in the street.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Fire, rescue

THURSDAY

-8:55 a.m.: smoke detector. Firefighters were dispatched to 234 S. Main Ave. for a faulty smoke detector.

-12:20 to 6:40 a.m.: medical. Medics were dispatched on four calls.

WEDNESDAY

-8:39 to 10:29 p.m.: medical. Medics were dispatched on three calls

-7:08 p.m.: smoke detector. Firefighters were dispatched to 1313 Tully on a smoke or carbon monoxide detector activation.

-6:46 p.m.: gasoline spill. Firefighters were dispatched to the 1400 block of Michigan Street for a gasoline spill in a parking lot.

-4:37 to 6:05 p.m.: medical. Medics were dispatched on two calls.
