SIDNEY — For the third time in three weeks, the Sidney Police Department has executed a narcotics search warrant in a continued concerted effort to combat the use and the trafficking of drugs of abuse in the city.

At around 12:20 p.m. Monday, officers and detectives from the Sidney Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at 720 Countryside St., Apt. 4, Sidney Ohio. Recovered during the search were syringes, caps used for heroin, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the search warrant Derrick Cornett, age 23, who resides at the Countryside address was arrested. He was charged with a misdemeanor paraphernalia possession charge and had a warrant for contempt out of Sidney Municipal Court. Felony charges will likely result in the near future.
