Police log

THURSDAY

-1:49 a.m.: theft. Charles Herring, 65, 408 1/2 N. Walnut Ave., reported his vehicle was stolen from the front of his house. A police investigation continues.

WEDNESDAY

-6:08 p.m.: burglary. Police are investigating the report made by Daniel Stant, 45, 1009 Riverbend Blvd., of damage to his window screen.

-5:44 p.m.: theft. Jessie Yates, 26, 326 Maple St., reported someone took a floor jack from his back yard.

-3:08 p.m.: criminal damaging. Holy Angels on South Ohio Avenue reported someone damaged two of their “No Parking” signs.

-12:10 p.m.: theft. Karee Burton, 47, 206 Franklin Ave., reported someone stole her lawnmower.

Nov. 11

-9:51 a.m.: vandalism. Mystic Apartments on East Court Street reported damage by water to the apartment located at 1507 E. Court St., Apt. B. The drywall, valued at $20,000, and the carpet and carpet pad, valued at $6,000, were destroyed.

Crashes

Roy Rust, 66, 309 E. Court St., was cited with improper starting after a two-vehicle collision on Monday at 2:58 p.m.

Rust was pulling away from a curb on East Court Street and attempting to make a U-turn when he struck another vehicle traveling eastbound on East Court Street. Rust told police he was already in the roadway when the other vehicle hit him and that he did not see the vehicle when he pulled from the curb.

The driver of the other vehicle, Jared Lindsey, 17, 437 E. Ruth St., told police he was traveling on the roadway and Rust’s vehicle hit him as Rust was pulling from the curb.

The police report said the damage was consistent with Lindsey’s story and Rust was cited.
