THURSDAY

-6:56 p.m.: drug abuse. Brian Stoops, 49, Springfield, was arrested for drug abuse.

-5:06 p.m.: possession of drugs. David Goff, 43, 2355 Collins Drive, Apt. D, was arrested for possession of drugs and possessing criminal tools.

-2:50 p.m.: unruly juvenile. A 15-year-old female was charged for unruly juvenile.

-10:54 a.m.: theft. Mutual Federal Savings Bank on Michigan Street reported the theft of $1,000.

WEDNESDAY

-4:24 p.m.: warrant. Amber Lewis, 36, 2342 Collins Drive, was arrested on a Miami County warrant.

-2:21 p.m.: found property. An Ohio ID belonging to Jessica Nafzger, 37, of Sidney, was found at the Shelby County Department of Jobs and Family Services on South Ohio Avenue and was turned into the police department.

-1:59 p.m.: theft. Shelby County Metropolitan Housing Authority on North Wagner Avenue reported the theft of a refrigerator from 1201 Hilltop Ave., Apt B.

Crashes

Theodore Shuff II, 55, of Piqua, was cited with right of way at private drive following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday at 12:45 p.m.

Shuff was in the driveway of Speedway on Michigan Street when he pulled onto Michigan Street and struck the eastbound vehicle on Michigan Street driven by Lisa Poeppelman, 57, Yorkshire, in the right front side of her vehicle.

• Brian Vining Jr., 18, 131 Oldham Ave., was cited with failure to control and leaving the scene after a crash on Thursday at 3:58 p.m.

Vining was attempting to make a right turn from state Route 47 onto Riverbend Boulevard when he went over the curb in into the median and struck a utility pole. He then fled the scene on foot.

When Vining contacted the police the next day he told police he left the scene because he didn’t have a cellphone to call for a ride.

• Daniel Hageman, 24, Anna, was cited with assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday at 3:36 p.m.

Hageman was traveling eastbound and moving forward on East Court Street after being stopped at the light at Brooklyn Avenue when he didn’t realize the car in front of him had stopped again and struck it.

The other vehicle was driven by Jennifer Ludwig, 37, 615 Johnston Drive.

• Sarah Strunk, 18, 1631 Ash Place, was cited with assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday at 8:47 p.m.

Strunk was traveling eastbound on state Route 47 when she rear-ended the vehicle in front of her driven by Amanda Murphy, 20, 1117 Hilltop Ave., Apt. A. Murphy then lost control of her vehicle and went off the roadway to the right and struck a metal pole head-on.

One of Murphy’s passengers, Peter Stokes, 24, at large, was transported by Sidney Fire to Wilson Health.

FRIDAY

-1:31 p.m.: fire. Crews responded to Canal Place Apartments on West Poplar Street for a false fire alarm.

-1:02 p.m.: crash. Medics responded to the 900 block of South Main Avenue for an automobile crash.

-11:50 a.m.: crash. Crews responded to Interstate 75 for an automobile crash.

-11:44 a.m.: crash. Crews responded to I-75 for an automobile crash.

-11:16 a.m.: lines down. Firefighters responded to the 100 block of South Main Avenue on the report of power lines down.

-11:14 a.m.: crash. Crews responded to I-75 for an automobile crash.

-12:27 a.m. to 12:59 p.m..: medical. Crews responded to six calls.

THURSDAY

-3:10 to 8:53 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to two calls.

-12:45 to 1:51 p.m.: crash. Crews responded to two automobile crashes with injuries.
