SIDNEY — One person was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, following a one-vehicle crash Tuesday at 11 p.m.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Shane L. Pennington, 39, of Sidney, was driving his 2006 GMC Denali southbound on Jackson Road, south of Dingman Slagle Road near Sidney. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and Pennington over corrected and went off the left side of the roadway where the vehicle struck a utility pole.

Perry Port Salem Rescue and Port Jefferson Fire assisted at the scene.

Pennington was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
