MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Lauren Goettemoeller, of Sidney, recently received the SCO Alumni Endowed Scholarship at Southern College of Optometry.

The award recognizes an optometry student with a competitive grade-point average, Optometry Admission Test score and demonstrated service to his or her community, college or country. The scholarship comes with a $20,000 monetary award.

Goettemoeller is the daughter of Bev and Don Goettemoeller. She is a graduate of Lehman Catholic High School and the Ohio State University.

Each year, Southern College of Optometry recognizes its most outstanding students with scholarships to help defray the costs of their optometric education. This year, the college awarded those students approximately $250,000 for the pursuit of their Doctor of Optometry degrees.
