Upper Valley CC students qualify for state-level competition

PIQUA — Upper Valley Career Center SkillsUSA students have competed in local and regional competitions to qualify for the Ohio Championship event to be held on April 26-27 in Columbus.

Moving forward in individual competitions at the state level will be: Lashae Severt, Troy, Basic Health Care; Bethany Long, Bradford, Nurse Assisting; Ben Taylor, Troy, Auto Services Technologies; Logan Hall, Piqua, CNC Milling; Gabrielle Centliver, Troy, Extemporaneous Speaking; Madeline Ponchillia, Piqua, Medical Terminology; Hadley Johnson, Troy, Nail Care; Victoria Bowyer-Siegel, Troy, Nail Care Model; Jacob Taylor, Troy, Technical Drafting; Matt Schipper, Botkins, Welding.

Two Health Knowledge Bowl teams advance to state. The first place team is Hailey Gross, Newton; Kayli Coburn, Sidney; Alexis Shriver, Piqua. The second place team is Paige Dellinger, Newton; Kayleigh O’Connor, Troy; Paige Shonk, Anna.

The Opening and Closing Team also advances to state with a first place regional finish: Ashley Hirby and Mackenzie Byers, Piqua; Adriann Barker, Troy; Emilie Carter, Fairlawn; Lillian Walters, Houston; Abigail Weer, Covington; Sabrina Black, Anna; Kaileigh Freisthler, Sidney.
