PIQUA — Paige Shonk, Anna High School Senior, and Victoria Saunders, Newton High School Junior, were named the Upper Valley Career Center Students of the Quarter for the third nine week grading period.
According to Upper Valley Career Center Director of Student Services, Matt Meyer, Shonk is an Exercise Science Level II student and Saunders is in Cosmetology Level l.
Victoria Saunders is the daughter of Jeremy and Mandy Saunders of Ludlow Falls. She was recommended by her Cosmetology instructor, Mrs. Gina Griesdorn. She shared that Victoria is dedicated, responsible, hard-working, mature, and extremely talented. Her academic teachers state Victoria is a great student, respectful, nice and shows initiative.
Paige Shonk is the daughter of Curt and Kelly Joyce of Anna. She was recommended by her Exercise Science instructor Melissa Williams, who shared that Shonk is always involved, reliable, honest and a team player. Her academic teachers state that Paige is an exceptional student and an even better young lady.
Three students earned commendation for their nominations. Students earning an “Award of Merit” designation for Student of the Quarter honors are: Emily Diehl, Interactive Media I, Danielle Glick, Interactive Media II, and Jessica Shiverdecker, Early Childhood Education and Care II.
