Rhodes State College Foundation awards scholarships

LIMA – The 19th Annual Rhodes State College Scholarship Awards reception was held April 13 in Keese Hall on the College’s campus. For the 2016 – 2017 academic year, the Rhodes State College Foundation has 142 scholarship awards totaling $127,500 to award to students. Over the past 17 years, the Foundation has awarded 1,757 scholarship awards to students totaling almost $1.9 million through endowed and annual scholarships.

Auglaize County recipients were Andrea Angstmann, Borra Family Foundation Scholarship; Julie Brown, Memorial Scholarship; Jenna Crawford, Alumni Legacy Scholarship; Jessica Drummond, Rhodes State Scholarship; Elizabeth Griffin, Gary Weaver Public Service Scholarship and John and Irene Kinkley Scholarship; Spencer Knous, American Society for Quality Assurance (ASQ) Section 0808 Scholarship; Jennifer Lauth, Rhodes State College Faculty and Staff Student Scholarship; Carter Mox, Alberta M. Lee Scholarship; Madeline Paul, Elizabeth Enneking Memorial Scholarship and Nursing Scholarship; Chelsey Schneider, David and Marie Steiner Scholarship; Jay Shannon, David and Marie Steiner Scholarship; Brock Sharp, Lima Elks Fifty Four Scholarship; Jennifer Spradlin, Borra Family Foundation Nursing Scholarship; and Amy Wicker, Rhodes State Scholarship.

Darke County recipients were Chelsea Groff, Frank and Shirley Hill Scholarship; and Amber Rutschilling, Frank and Shirley Hill Scholarship.

Logan County recipients were Siera Dickerson, Rhodes State Scholarship; Shaana Downing, Distance Education Scholarship; Sonya Eaton, Dr. Rosalyn Liston Scholarship and Le Nien Boone Mueller Scholarship; Tony Gipson, Margot and Robert B. Keller Public Service Scholarship; Hannah Gross, Respiratory Care Alumni Scholarship and Matthew C. Terrill Memorial Scholarship; Devon Jacobs, Rhodes State Scholarship; and Blake Stephens, Rudy and Norma Rakowsky Scholarship.

Merce County recipients were Laura Kahlig, James J. Countryman Scholarship; Debra Link, Borra Family Foundation Scholarship and David and Marie Steiner Scholarship; Macie Morgan, Rhodes State Scholarship; Mandy Schmitmeyer, Elizabeth Enneking Memorial Scholarship; Rebecca Thomas, Borra Family Foundation Nursing Scholarship (BSN); Brittney Umstead, Dr. Robert D. and Ann M. Brunk Scholarship; and Elizabeth Wendel, Terri Hill-Kaufman Memorial Scholarship.

Shelby County recipients were Allison Gariety, Rhodes State Scholarship and David and Marie Steiner Scholarship; Alicia George, Frank and Shirley Hill Scholarship; Nicole Smith, Frank and Shirley Hill Scholarship; and Jenna Winner, Borra Family Foundation Scholarship and Rhodes State College Faculty and Staff Student Scholarship.
