JC American Legion awards scholarships

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center American Legion Foundation has announced it’s 2016 Ray Ford Nurses Scholarship winners.

Addison Gray from Wapakoneta High School has been awarded a $500 renewable escalating scholarship. She is the daughter of Sandra Gray. She will be attending Wright State University in the fall.

Sierra Sammons has been awarded a $500 renewable scholarship. She will be graduating from Wapakoneta High School and attending either Indian Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, or Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. her parents are Bill and Diane Sammons.

Blake Maurer has been awarded a $500 renewable scholarship. She will be graduating from Botkins High School and attending Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. Her parents are Dave and Jodi Maurer.

The Ray Ford Nurses Scholarship is a scholarship program administered by the Jackson Center American Legion, Scherer Post 493 in memory of Ray Ford. Ford was a life member of this American Legion post.
