JACKSON CENTER — After a brief executive session Monday night, the Jackson Center Board of Education voted to spend up to $65,000 for the acquisition of real estate.

The school will acquire 211 Linden St., a home across the street from the front of the school, and also pay any necessary closing costs.

Also at the meeting the board voted to employ Hannah Myers as a 7th grade girls basketball coach, Andy Hoying as a volunteer boys basketball coach, and Jan Davidson as a varsity girls softball coach.

They approved the financial report as presented by the treasurer, and the five year forecast. The forecast included flat revenue estimates for the next couple of years in real estate, state foundation and income tax revenue, yet the overall financial position of the District is expected to strengthen over the term of the forecast.

Superintendent Bill Reichert updated the board on the progress of the building project which continues to include collecting and sharpening estimates for the button-up and renovation phases after the new building is completed.

The next board meeting will be Mondy, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
