NK board loses, hires golf coach

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Local Schools Board of Education accepted the resignation of one golf coach and hired another during its regular meeting, Aug. 24.

Golf coach Terry Halko, resigned and the board approved a contract with Josh Lisi to replace him.

Varsity baseball coach Nick Schroer and fall play director Cory Canan also resigned.

The board approved hiring the following employees for the 2015-16 school year:

Kim Wirwille, substitute van drive and ticket taker; Clyde Wessel, Larry Rismiller and Sondra Thatcher, substitute bus drivers; Michelle Dillon, substitute aide and cafeteria assistant; Michelle Peters, dishwasher and server; Becca Gilland, diswasher, and Tammy Merriam, cafeteria substitute.

Also John Dircksen, Mary Bensman, John Bernstein, Deb Elsass, Jay Fledderjohann, Kali Goins, Dennis Henschen, Emily Langenkamp, Emily Little, Susan McDaniel, Dwain Meckstroth, Ken Nuss, Chuck Rowen, Mindy Settlage and Ellen Topp, substitute teachers.

Also Jenny Heitkamp, KC Club co-adviser; Mark Wirwille, assistant varsity track coach; Tracy Luck, Olivia Spieles and Tina Rohrbach, line judges; Tawnya Brogan, Ali Carpenter and Beth Shreve, ticket takers; Chris Schroer, ticket taker and attendant aide; Branden Puckett, junior high score keeper, and Darla Miller, prom and junior class adviser.

In other business, the board:

• Approved medical leave for Terry Halko.

• Authorized Kristen Hollis, a certified athletic trainer, to grant clearance for students to return to participation at the conclusion of concussion treatment protocol.

• Approved van and bus routes.

• Went into executive session to discuss personnel.
