OXFORD — Two local Miami University students spent their summer 2015 semester learning in a new country as part of study abroad programs.

Mitchell Everett, of Sidney, traveled to Italy. Emily Lammers, of Minster, traveled to United Kingdom and France.

With about 38 percent of Miami undergraduate students studying abroad for credit by the time they graduate, Miami is ranked second among public doctoral institutions nationwide for students studying abroad.

When we include students on internships, non-credit and Service-Learning programs, international students who study in a third country, and all other overseas programs completed by graduate and undergraduate students, nearly 45 percent of Miami students study abroad.

In addition to Miami’s Luxembourg campus, Miami students can study abroad in more than 90 locations around the world. Miami offers more than 350 co-sponsored study abroad programs that permit scholarship transfer.
