Jackson Center School to present ‘Bye, Bye Birdie’

JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center Local Schools will present the musical, “Bye Bye Birdie,” as its last musical in the old gym

Performances will be Feb. 23 and 25 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for adults, $2 for students.

Cari Beth Noah and Melissa Beal have directed the production, with orchestra direction by Susie Harris.

In the cast are Lauren Fark as Helen, Andrea Allenbaugh as Ursala Merkle, Emme Farley as Kim McAfee, Kaylee Murphy as Doris MacAfee, Devan Winemiller as Harry MacAfee, Carson Regula as Randolph MacAfee, Mikayla Hensley as Mae Peterson, Joey Irwin as Conrad Birdie, Heath Elliott as Hugo Peabody, Zach Welly as Albert Peterson, Maelee Enochs as Rose Alvarez.

Also, Jadyn Yinger as one girl and Penelope, T.J. Esser and Elijah M. Borchers as policemen, Reese Tooke and Alex Glick as reporters, Austin Allenbaugh as the mayor, Ally Russo as the mayor’s wife, Cassie Hoffman as Mrs. Merkle, Arianna Gross as Nancy, Macey Zehringer as Gloria Rasputin, Coltin Rose as Ed Sullivan and Harvey Johnson, Spencer Yinger as Mr. Johnson, Timmion Robinson as Maude, Bailey Boss as Alice, Madison Halker as Margie, Kiley Lemly and Deborah Sue, Jacob Borchers as a doctor and a policeman and Kieran Yarkosky as Suzy.

In the teen chorus are Shelby Boss, Catherine Zehringer, McKenzie Mann, Sarah Swiger, Elena Vargas, Carleigh Ross, Kennedy Elsnau, Serenity Hamilton, Brianna Fitzgerald and Maddy Lundy.

Student directors and the stage crew are Aaron Dunn, Haley Rogers, Avery Allison and George Younker.

Playing in the orchestra will be Pam George, flute; Molly Venneman, clarinet and saxophone; Carolyn Westerbeck-Gunter, Deb Mertz and Kendra Krouskop-Smith, violin; Janet Dilbone, cello; Steve Greggerson, bass; Mike Dilbone, Randy Johnson and Bill McIntosh, trumpet; Mitch Dilbone and Ray Marion, tormbone; Rick Reiss, percussion; and Cindy Woodward, piano.
