Lehman students among Piqua chamber honorees

SIDNEY — Thirteen Lehman Catholic students were honored recently at the 53rd Annual Top 100 Scholastic Awards Banquet sponsored by the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce. The awards recognize high school students who excel in the classroom. Recipients must be Piqua residents.

Lehman seniors Elijah Baker, son of Cliff and Karen Baker; Jacob Earhart, son of Jeff and Kelly Earhart; and Elizabeth Pax, daughter of Dennis and Kris Pax, all received awards for the fourth year.

Madeline McFarland, daughter of Ed and Jill McFarland, received the honor for the third.

Second-year recipients included Allison Bornhorst, daughter of Rick and Kelly Bornhorst; Grace Brandt, daughter of Tom and Heather Brandt; Kiera Burns, daughter of Steve and Christina Burns; Alexis Caulfield, daughter of Matt and Lynette Caulfield; Madison Heffelfinger, daughter of Chad and Kelly Heffelfinger; Grace Monnin, daughter of Andy and Julie Monnin, and Brieanna Werling, daughter of David and Patricia Werling.

First-time Lehman honorees were Lauren McFarland, daughter of Ed and Jill McFarland, and Brandyn Sever, son of Randy and Heather Sever.

Keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Richard Adams, Program Development/ Organization Consultant.

R. Scott Miller, president of the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening which was held at Piqua High School. Justin Sommer, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Piqua Chamber, presented the awards. The Invocation was given by Joe Hinds, Credit Analyst Unity National Bank. Dinner was served by Honor Society students from Piqua and Piqua Catholic Junior High Schools.

The lead sponsor of the annual event was French Oil Mill Machinery Company of Piqua.
