Kiwanis Club names grant winners

SIDNEY — The Kiwanis Club of Sidney has awarded $11,500 in scholarships to nine area students.

Brandi Motsinger, of Sidney High School, received the Kiwanis-Robert and Delores Peters Scholarship of $2,500 and a Kiwanis Scholarship for Key Club of $500.

Helena Shoukri, of Sidney High School, and Kaitrin O’Leary, of Lehman High School, each received a Kiwanis Academic Scholarship for $1,500.

Jenna Foster-Wheeler, Carly Drury and Dylan Zerkle, all of Sidney High School, each received a Kiwanis Academic Scholarlship of $1,000.

Cameron Fogle, of Sidney High School, received a Kiwanis Scholarship for Key Club for $500.

Audrey Garierty, of Russia High School, and Jaclyn Schmiesing, of Jackson Center High School, were each awarded Vera DoLean Ginn Scholarhsips for $1,000.

The Kiwanis Club of Sidney Scholarhsip Fund is administered by the Community Foundation of Shelby County and is funded by Kiwanis Club members, former members and by gifts from the estate of former members Robert Peters and his wife, Delores. Seniors at Sidney, Lehman Catholic, Christian Academy and Upper Valley Career Center high schools who reside within the boundaries of the Sidney school district are eligible to apply. The Vera DoLean Ginn Scholarship is available county-wide to high shcool and college students.
