BOE approves contracts

SIDNEY — Contracts for the current school year were approved Monday during the Sidney City Schools Board of Education meeting.

Michelle Abbott was hired as a substitute teacher. She receive a one-year, as needed contract at $90 per day.

Jason Kelly was given a one-year limited contract to be the custodian for the district. He will receive $15.58 per hour plus a 50 cents per hour night bonus.

Supplemental contracts were given to Nish golden, eighth-grade boys basketball coach, $3,550; Michael Ward, seventh-grade boys basketball coach, $3,381’ Dan Brulport, Sidney High School freshman wrestling coach, $1,503; and Bill Blosser, Sidney Middle School wrestling coach, $1,503.

Josh Montgomery and Stacy Goffena were given supplemental athletic event staff contracts.

In other business, the board:

• Accepted the resignation of April Bogart, cook, effective Nov. 2.

• Entered into an agreement with Dave Schmidt to be a substitute security officer at a rate of $16.50 per hour.

• Corrected the supplemental contract of Ryan Shurts as a junior varsity wrestling coach and not a freshman wrestling coach. He will be paid $2,603.

• Heard the first reading a new/revised policies for the district.

The board’s next meeting will be Monday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. at the board of education office.
