Prayer on the Square moved indoors

SIDNEY — Planning continues for a local celebration of the National Day of Prayer. Thursday May 4th is the National Day of Prayer and Shelby County will commemorate this special day with a Prayer on the Square gathering in the sanctuary of Sidney First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Poplar St. in downtown Sidney. The celebration was originally scheduled to take place on the Shelby County court house lawn, but unstable weather forecasts for Thursday have organizers moving the event indoors.

The noon to 1 p.m. assembly will feature inspirational remarks from local leaders and a key note presentation by Pastor Ed Rinehart, Co-chairman for reviveOHIO. Music at this National Day of Prayer celebration will be performed by a combined high school choir comprised of representatives from Fairlawn, Christian Academy, Lehman Catholic, Jackson Center, Anna, and Sidney high schools under the direction of Frank Fahrer. Compliments of Wilson Health, a brown bag lunch will be offered to all who attend.

The National Day of Prayer celebration in Shelby County is a nondenominational event and the public is invited.
