SIDNEY — It is Vacation Bible School season, and we are bringing back a classic! The First Presbyterian Church of Sidney will be offering “God’s Great Gallery: Exploring God’s Wonderful Works” the week of June 19 through 23, from 9 a.m. to noon. This free Vacation Bible School is open to all children, ages preschool-6th grade.
“God’s Great Gallery: Exploring God’s Wonderful Works” encourages children to explore their creativity through a variety of art experiences while they learn about their own Creator. This program leads children to a deeper relationship with God as they experience four extraordinary Bible stories. From Creation to Mary discovering the empty tomb, these stories all center around the awe-inspiring presence of God.
Awe and wonder are classic human reactions to God’s presence and are catalysts for life-changing faith. WOW! Is the word for the moment when such wonder is born in the heart, whether that wonder comes from Creation, through people, from peace, from resurrection, or from the movements of the Holy Spirit.
The goal of God’s Great Gallery is to explore these moments of awe in such a way that children come to faith, deepen in faith, and become messengers of WOW! to the world in their creativity, their speech, and their being with others.
God’s Great Gallery will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Miami Avenue in Sidney. The program starts Monday, June 19 and lasts through Friday, June 23. God’s Great Gallery begins each day at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. On Friday of that week, families are invited to join the children for a messy “Slime Time” event and picnic.
