To the Editor:
The First Baptist Church, 309 E. North St., is participating in a program called Decision America Tour 2016. The program is organized and carried out by Franklin Graham, son of the well-known Evangelist Billy Graham.
Because this is an election year, Franklin Graham will visit every state capitol to proclaim the gospel and challenge Christians to pray fervently, and to boldly live out their faith in Jesus Christ – at home, in public, and at the ballot box. The meetings are held on the steps of the different capitols at noontime. The rallies are not about politics or parties. It is about the moral condition of America and what we can do. The program is predicated on the familiar Scripture: “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
This is a well-organized program and we are asked first and foremost to pray. All who sign up to participate receive a Prayer Journal free of charge, which gives information about each state, their challenges, their successes, and published dates for the rallies. Ohio’s rally will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016.
Our forefathers sacrificed to establish America, and in order to maintain our freedom, thousands of brave Americans have fought in many wars, some making the ultimate sacrifice, while others have been left to live a life with devastating physical and mental effects. The least we can do is work so their efforts have not been in vain.
Prayer changes hearts and can change America!
Anyone interested in participating in the program or if you desire more information, please contact our church office at 937-492-4909. We would be happy to include you in our plans.
