To the editor:

There are two items that I would like to commend the city of Sidney for.

First: I would like to say that, in my opinion, Sidney, Ohio currently has a very strong government that is headed by a concerned and involved mayor, Mike Barhorst. I do not personally know Mr. Barhorst but from all appearances, he is strong, progressive and decisive. However, no team is a one man show, so the rest of Sidney’s government deserves credit as well.

Second: This is also a result in the forward thinking and progressive action of the Sidney government. There was a tax levy put on the ballot a while back, and passed for street maintenance and improvement. The city has been true to their word and done a terrific job with the street repair. The streets that have been resurfaced have been done in accordance to need rather than neighborhood.

Too often people are quick to complain, so I feel that good jobs also need to be recognized.
