VERSAILLES — Scott McEldowney has stepped down as the Versailles High School boys basketball coach, the school announced Tuesday afternoon.

McEldowney informed his team of his decision following Saturday’s last-second tournament loss to Miami East in action at Northmont.

In his 10 seasons as head coach, McEldowney had a record of 156 wins and 80 losses. His teams won district championships in 2012, 2013 and also last season, and added a regional championship in 2013. That team went on to finish as the state runner-up in Division 3.

He led the Tigers to the championship of the Midwest Athletic Conference this season, and for his efforts, he was named the MAC Coach of the Year.
