ANNA — Anna won the County baseball championship outright, but runner-up Fort Loramie didn’t let the Rockets go through the league campaign unblemished.

Loramie overcame a 4-1 deficit to pull out an 8-4 victory in eight innings Saturday morning/afternoon at Anna.

The win puts the Redskins at a final 10-2 in the league and 18-9 overall. Anna finishes league play 11-1 and is now 21-2-1 on the season.

Anna took a 3-1 lead after an inning, then made it 4-1 with a run in the third, but Loramie tied it up with three in the fifth. It stayed that way until the top of the eighth, when the Redskins broke it open with a four-run uprising, the key hit being Dillon Braun’s single, which drove in the go-ahead run.

Jacob Kitzmiller was 2 for 4 for Loramie, with two runs scored and two RBIs.

For Anna, Aiden Endsley was 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored, and Colin Wuebker had a double.

Fort Loramie plays in the Division 4 Sectional finals Wednesday at Sidney High School against Triad.

Anna plays in the Division 3 Sectional finals Wednesday at Northmont against Greenon.

• Fort Loramie also beat Jackson Center 14-0 on Friday night. Travis Hilgefort was 4 for 4 with two RBIs, Drew Wehrman drove in three runs, and Daniel Berning, Kitzmiller and Blake Gaier all had two hits apiece.

The victory Friday was No. 450 for head coach Bill Sturwold in his career.

Lehman 7, HN 0

DOLA — Lehman traveled to Hardin Northern Saturday to complete Northwest Central Conference play and ended a perfect league season with a 7-0 blanking of Northern.

The Cavs finished 14-0 in the league and are now 20-3 on the season.

Nate Bosway was unhittable on the mound, allowing just one hit while striking out 11. He had no walks.

“It was a tough day to play,” said Lehman coach Dave King. “We wanted to get Nate some work and he was outstanding.”

Lehman broke a scoreless tie in the third when Brandon Barhorst plated a run with a sacrifice fly. An inning later, two more came home on Dylan Arnold’s home run.

Arnold had two singles to go with his homer, Tyler Lachey singled and doubled and Ian Smith had two singles.

Lehman plays in the D-4 Sectional finals Wednesday at Piqua against Russia.

Russia 16, Fairlawn 0

RUSSIA — Russia blanked Fairlawn 16-0 Saturday to clinch a share of the County softball championship.

The Lady Raiders, 20-7 overall, finish league play at 10-2.

Maddie Borchers, the winning pitcher, went 4 for 4 at the plate, with two doubles for Russia. Maria Herron, the area’s leading hitter, singled, doubled and homered, and Lauren Monnin had two singles.

Russia plays in the D-4 Sectional finals Tuesday against top-seeded Covington at Fort Loramie.
