SIDNEY — The Anna boys continued their dominance of the County Track Meet Friday night at Fairlawn

The Rockets piled up 145.5 points to get past Russia’s 120 and win their 11th County title in the last 13 years.

Logan Konst and Blake Stephens both added to their wins on Wednesday, Konst winning the 100 in 11.39 and Stephens the high jump at 6-4. Konst previously won his specialty, the pole vault, with a meet record 15-7. He’s the defending Division 3 state champion, and moves up to D-2 this year.

Stephens won the long jump Wednesday at 19-9.25.

Lucas Huber also had a win for Anna, in the 3200 in 9:57.13.

Russia had six first place finishes on Friday, from Cole Tebbe in the 110 hurdles, the 800 relay team of Trent Monnin, Jack Moorman, Caleb Ball and Drew Poling, Trevor Moonin in both the 200 and 400 dashes, Caleb Ball in the 800, and from the 1600 relay team of Monnin, Moorman, Ball and Weston Lavy.

In the girls finals on Friday, there were two outstanding individual performances.

Lauren Heaton led Russia to the team title by winning three events and running on a winning relay team. She won all three dashes, the 100, 200 and 400, and anchored the first-place 1600 relay team.

Fort Loramie’s Olivia Quinter won the 100 and 300 hurdles and also took first in the long jump.

Russia also got a win from Molly Kearns in the 3200 run.

Botkins’ distance standout Chloe Flora won both the 800 and 1600 runs, and Jackson Center’s Nicole Fogt won the discus at 132-10, breaking her own meet record of 130.

Fort Loramie’s Andrea Meyer won the pole vault and also set a new meet record, clearing 11 feet even. She held the previous mark at 10-0.25.

Two meet record fell in junior high boys. Anna’s 1600 relay team of Bart Bixler, Kamren Steward, Riley Huelskamp and Garhett Keener ran a 3:39.32 for a new mark, and Anna’s Malachi Minnich won the shot put at 44-10.5 for another new record.

Bixler and Steward led the Junior Rockets to the team title. In addition to running on the record-setting relay team, Bixler won the 800 and 1600, and Steward the 110 and 200 hurdles.

Russia’s Mason Dapore won the 200 and 400 dashes.

Fort Loramie won the junior high girls title by a wide margin, and set two new meet records. The 1600 relay team of Corynn Heitkamp, Danielle Eilerman, Paige Rethman and Kennedi Gephart set a record of 4:18.6, beating the old record by over seven seconds, and Hannah Raterman set a new meet record in the pole vault at 8-feet, 9-inches.

Rethman, Gephart and Raterman were all in on three wins Friday. Rethman won the 800 and 1600 runs, and Gephart the 100 and 400 dashes. Raterman, meanwhile, added a first in the 200 dash, and also ran on the winning 400 relay team.

NWCC

WAYNESFIELD — Lehman and Riverside competed in the Northwest Central Conference finals on Saturday at Waynesfield.

The Lehman girls were third with 94 points and the Riverside girls eighth with 12.

Lehman’s 3200 relay foursome of Alanna O’Leary, Maria Schmiesing, Samantha Edwards and Theresa Flood took first place in a time of 11:05.65. O’Leary had an outstanding day overall. She also won the 200 in 26.23, the 400 in 1:00.82, and took second in the 100 in 12.77.

Schmiesing added a second in the 800 and a third in the 1600, and Flood was third in the 3200.

The Lady Cavs also got a win from Kassie Lee on Thursday in the shot put at 35-8.5.

For the Lehman boys on Saturday, Jacob Schmiesing was third in both the 800 and 1600 runs. Joe Schemmel took third in the discus in 122-3.

The Holy Angels junior high girls were third with 64 points.

Lindsey Magoteaux won the 100 dash in 13.13 and teammate Noelle Dexter was second in 13.78, and they repeated that finish in the 200, with Magoteaux running a 27.98 and Noelle Dexter 29.31. The two then joined Anna Cianciolo and Rylie McIver to win the 400 relay in 58.36.

Cianciolo, meanwhile, took second in the high jump at 4-2.

The Holy Angels boys were fifth with 57 points.

Drew Ivey was in on three victories, winning the 100 in 12.58, the 200 in 26.56, and running on the 400 relay with Noah Young, Michael Allenbaugh and Josh Kempfer. That foursome won in 52.93.

Kempfer also took first in the 400 in 1:00.61.

FORT RECOVERY — Minster and Versailles again dueled for the championships of the Midwest Athletic Conference in the league meet finals held Friday at Fort Recovery.

The Minster boys won with 158.5, just 7.5 points better than Versailles.

The Minster girls had a more comfortable margin, with 183.5 to 112 for the Lady Tigers.

On Saturday, Minster’s girls had four firsts, from the 1600 relay team which just barely missed a meet record with its 4:02.54, Kaci Bornhorst in the 3200 in 11:31.17, Madeline Magoto in the 800 in 2:20.8, and Maggie Meiring in the 300 hurdles in 47.24. She was also third in the 100 hurdles.

Versailles won both the 400 and 800 relays, and also got wins from Haley Winner in the 100 in 12.83 and Cassie Peters in the 200 in 27.55.

New Bremen’s Paige Jones won the 400 in 58.91.

The Minster boys got wins from Jack Poeppelman in the 400 in 53.4 and Conner Tumbusch in the 800 in 2:00.71, and also from the 1600 relay team in 3:29.67.

Joe Spitzer and Josh Steinbrunner both won two events for Versailles. Spitzer crossed first in the 1600 in 4:33.56 and the 3200 in 10:09.51. Steinbrunner won both hurdles races, the 110 in 14.93 and the 300 in 40.36. Teammate Adam Huelskamp was first in the 200 in 23.43, and Marion Local’s Colin Homan won the pole vault at 13-8.
