TROY — Fort Loramie’s Olivia Quinter qualified for the Division 3 State Track Meet in both hurdles races Friday night in the final round of the regional meet at Troy.
Quinter won the 300 hurdles in 45.34, and also took second in the 100 hurdles. She was hoping to qualify in three events, but came up just shot in the long jump, placing fifth by less than two inches.
She wasn’t the only Lady Redskin to win a regional championship. Teammate Andrea Meyer won the pole vault at 11 feet, the same height as runner-up and fellow state qualifier Emily Bohman of Russia.
Three other County girls won regional championships, and no surprise from either one. Botkins distance standout Chloe Flora won the 1600 and 3200 runs by wide margins. She finished the 1600 in 4:29.25 to 5:12.89 for the runner-up. And she added the 3200 in 11:09.46, with the runner-up crossing over 11 seconds later.
Russia sprinter Lauren Heaton won the 400 in 57.29, and Jackson Center’s Nicole Fogt was No. 1 in the discus at 121-7.
Heaton also took second in the 200 in 26.36, and teammate Grace York won the 800 in 2:14.73.
Lehman’s Alanna O’Leary qualified in two sprint events. She was second in the 400 and added a fourth in the 200.
Grace Homan qualified Wednesday in the shot put, and added the discus on Friday, placing third.
Minster won the 400, 800 and 1600 relays to go with the 3200 relay won on Wednesday.
