SIDNEY — Anna defeated Lehman in a dual golf match at Shelby Oaks on Tuesday, 161-179.
The Rockets had three players ty for medalist honors with 40. They included Ryan Smelewski, Eli Kuck and Ross Pulfer. Zach Watren was one stroke behind at 41.
For the Cavaliers, Tyler Lachey led with a 41, Ryan Schmidt had a 43, Adam Vanderhorst 47 and Zack Scott 48.
Fairlawn wins tri
SIDNEY — Fairlawn won a tri-meet at Shelby Oaks Tuesday, shooting 174. Houston had 197 and New Knoxville 206.
Nathan Lessing shot a 40 for medalist honors, Kody Curtner added a 42, and Mason Jones and Josh Reck both shot 46.
Zach McKee shot a 46 for Houston, Tristan Stangle 48, Nick Shoemaker 51 and Zach Freytag 52.
New Knoxville was led by Hunter McMurray with a 45. Jack Bartholomew shot a 52, Eric Prater 54 and Nathan Tinnerman 55.
Lady Tigers win
ST. PARIS — The Versailles girls golf team took on Miami East and the golf course at Lakeland in St. Paris, and emerged with a 184-192 victory Tuesday.
Lauren Heitkamp shot a 43 to lead Versailles. Maddie Covault had a 46, Jorja Pothast 47, and Lauren Durham 48. Morgan Heitkamp finished with a 49.
Miami East’s Kiera Fellers was the medalist with a 42, and Maggie Bergman added a 48.
SHS, LHS netters blanked
Sidney High’s girls tennis team lost to Centerville 5-0 on Tuesday.
Desire Newton lost 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, Madison Frank lost 6-0, 6-2 at second singles, and Caroline Gallimore lost 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
At first doubles, Hannah Brown and Marie Butts lost 6-0, 6-0, and at second doubles, Naomi Riegel and Auanna Edens lost 6-0, 6-2.
Sidney won a junior varsity doubles match, 8-6. The team was Lanie Shoukre and Nonoko Gunji.
• Lehman lost 5-0 to Elida.
Diana Gibson lost 6-3, 6-3 at first singles, Alex Read lost 6-0, 6-0 at second singles, and Allison Briggs lost 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
At first doubles, Emma Simpson and Sara Gibson lost a tough one, 7-6, 6-2, and at second doubles, Melanie Brunner and Anna Pennaparra lost 6-2, 6-4.
Lehman is 0-4.
