SIDNEY — Sidney hosted Graham and Minster in a three-team volleyball match on Saturday.

The Lady Jackets lost to Graham 25-25, 25-13, and also lost to Minster 25-10, 25-13.

Against Graham, Amanda Thomas and Ally Spangelr both had five kills and Grace Shell added eight assists.

Against Minster, Thomas led with four kills and McKenzie Lambdin and Kiana Calvert had seven digs apiece.

The Lady Jackets drop to 1-4 on the season and return to action tonight at the high school against Wapaloneta.

The Sidney junior varsity beat Graham 21-25, 25-20, 25-17, but lost to Minster 25-17, 25-13. Maddie White had 16 assists against Graham and Arielle Snider and Jada Rowland six and five kills, respectively. White had eight assists against Minster.

In the game with Sidney, Minster was led by Jordyn Heitbrink with six aces, Hannah Schmitmeyer with eight digs, Paiige Purdy with seven digs, and Hayley Baumer with nine assists.

Against Graham, Katie Wuebker had eight assists, Rosie Westerbeck 17 digs, and Paige Thobe eight kills.

Minster is even at 2-2 now, and hosts New Bremen on Thursday in conference play.

Botkins wins second

Botkins upped its record to 2-0 with a 25-17, 22-25, 25-7, 25-16 win over Waynesfield Saturday.

The Lady Trojans got 12 kills and six ace serves from Sami Vehorn, Sarah Bergman added eight kills, Kayla Kohler had 14 assists and Blake Maurer 13, and Danielle Swartz was the digs leader.

The Lady Trojans are back in action tonight at home against neighboring New Bremen.
