Anna edges Loramie on 5th scorecard

SIDNEY — Anna and Fort Loramie dueled at Shelby Oaks Monday in County golf action, and had to go to the fifth scorecard to determine the winner.

After tallying the top four scorecards, the two teams were deadlocked at 163. But Anna got a 44 from fifth man Ross Pulfer to 49 for Fort Loramie’s Chris Eilerman.

Anna’s Zach Watren and Fort Loramie’s Brad Goettemoller tied for medalist honors, each with 37. Connor Rose of Loramie shot a 39, Tanner Rosengarten 41 and Aaron Schwartz 46.

For Anna, Ryan Smelewski added a 41, Eli Kuck 42 and Mason Platfoot 43.

The loss was Loramie’s first in County play, and both teams are now one game behind Russia in the dual standings.

Raiders stay perfect

VERSAILLES — Russia remained unbeaten in County play with a 162-200 win over Houston in action at Stillwater Valley Monday.

Jonah Counts shot a 38 to lead the Raiders and take medalist honors. Gunnar Young added a 40 and Connor Monnin and Jack Dapore both finished at 42.

Tristin Stangel with a 47 and Cameron Via with a 50 led Houston.

Russia also won the junior varsity match 206-222. Match medalist was Tyler Scott of Russia with a 45.

Cavs win in NWCC

SIDNEY — Lehman defeated Riverside in a Northwest Central Conference boys golf match at Shelby Oaks Monday 171-194.

The Cavaliers were led by medalist Ryan Schmidt, who shot a 39. Cole Gilardi added a 43, Tyler Lachey 44 and Tyler Scott 45.

Riverside got a 45 from Trey Lane and a 46 from Landon Kelsey.

V-Tigers beat NB

MINSTER — The Versailles boys had an easy victory Monday, defeating New Bremen 175-254 in Midwest Athletic Conference action.

The Tigers, 3-1 in the MAC, were led by medalist Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker with a 40. Kyle Cotner added a 42, Griffen Riegle 45 and Michael Hemmelgarn 48.

Cole Hemmelgarn’s 57 led New Bremen.

Sidney loses by 2

SIDNEY — Sidney lost by two strokes to visiting Greenville in action at Shelby Oaks on Monday in Greater Western Ohio Conference North play.

The loss left Sidney at 0-2 in the North and 0-3 overall in dual matches.

Cole Cartwright of Sidney was the medalist with a 38 and Jared Lindsey shot a 42. Gambit Hand added a 50 and Zane Walker 52.

Coldwater tops Minster

CELINA — Coldwater defeated Minster in MAC boys golf 175-194 in action at the Mercer County Elks Monday.

Minster, 1-4 in the league, was led by Jordan Brackman with a 44 and Ben Stubbs with a 49. Adam Knapke added a 50 and Brett Hoelscher 51.

GIRLS

Lady Raiders fall

ST. PARIS — The Russia Lady Raiders lost 190-202 in girls golf action Monday.

Russia got a 48 from Alicia George, 49 from Maddie Borchers, 50 from Lizzie Adams and 55 from Kara Barlage.

Miami East got a 46 from Megan Pettit, and its other three golfers all finished with 48s.

Minster wins 9th

MINSTER — Minster moved to 9-1 on the season and remained unbeaten in the MAC with a 202-296 win over Coldwater.

Alli Fischer was the match medalist.

Lady Tigers win

VERSAILLES — The Versailles girls continued their excellent season with a 181-224 win over New Bremen in MAC action at Stillwater Monday.

The Lady Tigers are now 3-1 in the league and just one game off the pace set by Minster.

Maddie Covault and Lauren Heitkamp were cop-medalists with 43s, Jorja Pothast shot a 46 and Lauren Dunham had a 49.

For the Lady Cardinals, Molly Borkowski shot a 49, and Amy Schmitmeyer and Claire McClurg both shot 53.
