Local bowler wins state championship

Sidney bowler Libby Hurley holds the certificates she was presented for winning the 2015 Ohio USBC (United States Bowling Congress) state and district youth singles handicap championships in competition held at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl. In the state tournament, she took first place in the 8-and-under division with scores of 84, 79 and 143. That, coupled with her 306 handicap, gave her a first-place total of 777 and a $235 scholarship. In the District B competition, she rolled games of 92, 105 and 93 for a 290, and her score with handicap was 767. Her prize for the district was a $100 scholarship.
