SIDNEY — The Lehman Lady Cavaliers, the No. 2-ranked team in the state in Division 3, started off Western Ohio Soccer League play with a lopsided victory Thursday, defeating visiting Lincolnview by an 11-0 final.

The win puts the Lady Cavs at 1-0 in the WOSL and 2-1-1 on the season heading into a game at home Saturday against Newton.

Lehman’s 11 goals came from nine different players, with Sarah Fuller and Samantha Edwards both scoring two apiece.

Kaitryn O’Leary, Grace Monnin, Amanda Titterington, Grace Olding, Molly Safreed, Elizabeth Pax and Kate Hemm all scored goals.

Assists came from Safreed, Titterington, O’Leary (2), Fuller, Emily Reinhart (2), Carly Edwards and Samantha Edwards all had assists.

State D-3 rankings — 1. Fairbanks, 2. LEHMAN, 3. Archbold, 4. Zanesville Rosecrans, 5. Chesterland Hawken, 6. (tie) Hamilton Badin, Hanoverton United, 8. (tie) Cincinnati County Day, Cincinnati Summit Country Day, 10. Western Reserve Academy.

JC edges Fairlawn

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Tigers edged Fairlawn in a battle of county boys soccer teams in action at Jackson Thursday, 2-1

Fairlawn’s goal came from James Skeens off an assist from Nick Brautigam. Goalie Ethan Schnipke had five saves.

Rangers blanked

NEW KNOXVILLE — New Knoxville lost at home Thursday to Troy Christian by a 5-0 final in non-league play.

The Rangers, 0-6, return to action Saturday against Lima Temple
