SIDNEY — The Sidney Lady Jackets snapped a six-match losing streak Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over visiting Lima Bath in high school volleyball action at Sidney Middle School.

The scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-15, 29-27, and the win gave the Lady Jackets a 2-7 record heading to Springfield today.

Amanda Thomas was strong from the service line, serving nine aces. Grace Shell added four aces, and also led the defense with seven digs.

Thomas also had 11 kills, Emily Tolbert added 10 and Adrienna Cook finished with eight.

Carrie Nuss was 48 for 48 setting and had 16 assists, and Kiana Calvert was 36 for 38 with 10 assists.

The junior varsity upped its record to 7-2 with a 25-6, 25-19 win over Bath.

Jada Rowland had four kills and Maddie White had 10 assists.

ST. MARYS —New Bremen went on the road Tuesday and dropped a 3-2 thriller to St. Marys.

St. Marys won the first two games 25-20, 25-23, Bremen came back to take the next two 25-22, 25-21, and St. Marys then took the deciding game 15-10.

Paige Jones had a big game for the Lady Cardinals, pounding down 26 kills and getting 15 digs.

Devon Heitkamp had 15 kills and 19 digs, Kaitlyn Ahrns had 10 kills and 16 digs, Alyse CLune led the defense with 20 digs, Ali Howell added 17 digs, and Kaitlyn Schwieterman had 12 digs to go with 43 assists and two ace serves. Ahrns also had two aces, and Logan Wells added five kills.

The Lady Cardinals are now 4-3 on the season.

Minster 1-2 in tourney

SIDNEY — Minster won one and lost two in the Lehman Invitational on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats lost to Adena 25-21, 25-22. Katie Wuebker had eight kills and 12 digs, Paige Thobe six kills, Jordyn Heitbrink three aces and eight digs, LeAnn Huelsman nine digs and Hayley Baumer 19 assists.

Minster defeated Hopewell-Loudon 25-14, 25-10, with Heitbrink finishing with seven kills and three aces and Rosie Westerbeck adding six kills. Baumer had 14 assists and Wuebker three ace serves.

Minster then lost to Anna 25-13, 25-23. Baumer had 12 assists in the match.

Minster is 3-5 on the season.
