Loramie boys, Minster girlsranked No. 1 in Division 4

Despite suffering their first loss of the season Friday night, the Fort Loramie Redskins are the No. 1-ranked Division 4 team in Ohio, according to the first Associated Press boys basketball rankings, released Monday night.

The Redskins reeled off eight straight wins to start the season before losing a County game Friday night at Russia. They were in action Tuesday night against Versailles, which is 9-1 and ranked No. 7 in Division 3.

In all, three County teams were ranked in the top 20, and the other two met on the hardwood Tuesday night. The Fairlawn Jets, 7-1 going into Tuesday’s action, are ranked 14th and the Russia Raiders, 9-2 as of Monday night, are ranked 17th.

Girls

The unbeaten Minster girls were tied for the top spot in Division 4 in the first Associated Press girls basketball rankings, released Tuesday night.

Minster was 9-0 going into a game at Jackson Center Tuesday. Jackson Center is ranked No. 9 in D-4.

The Russia Lady Raiders, at 11-1 on the season, are the No. 3-ranked team in Division 4, and Versailles, also 11-1, is ranked No. 4 in D-3. Those two teams meet Saturday at Versailles.
