Five Edison basketballplayers are All-OCCAC

Three Edison State men’s basketball players and two from the women’s team received recognition on the All-Ohio Community College Athletic Association team for the 2016-17 season.

In men’s basketball, Christopher Landrum II of Boston was named to the All-Defensive Team. A 6-foot-1 sophomore guard, he averaged 9.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

Dae’Shawn Jackson of Springfield and Hadith Tiggs of Wayne (Huber Heights) were both named to the All-OCCAC Honorable Mention list. Jackson, a 6-1 guard, averaged 16.4 points and 3.5 assists per game, and Tiggs, a 6-2 guard, averaged 15.9 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Edison’s men finished the season 17-14.

• In women’s basketball, Sydney Miller, and Indian Lake grad, was named to the first team by the OCCAC. A 5-5 sophomore, she averaged 15.9 points, 4-9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

Teammate Carly Buzzard, a 6-foot sophomore from Wapakoneta, was named to the Honorable Mention list after averaging 12.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Edison finished the season 20-11.
