Lehman wins NWCC tourney,3rd straight conference crown

LIMA — Lehman shot a 348 to win by two strokes in the Northwest Central Conference Boys Golf Tournament, and in doing so, took the overall league championship in action Wednesday at Hidden Creek Golf Course in Lima.

Lehman entered the tournament with a 5-1 record in dual matches, and trailed Lima Temple Christian, which won all six during the season.

The Cavaliers finished first in the tournament, and when Upper Scioto Valley finished second, one spot ahead of Lima Temple by a single stroke, it gave the league championship to the Cavaliers and first-year coach Eric Harlamert. It was Lehman’s third straight league championship.

Lehman was led by Tyler Scott and Tyler Lachey, who both shot 85. Zack Scott shot an 88 and Ryan Schmidt 90 for the Cavaliers’ score.

Riverside placed sixth with a final score of 380. Trey Lane led the Pirates with an 89, Landon Kelsey shot a 90, Ross Stevens 93 and Tyler Sanford 103.
