Three players from Lehman, which finished the season ranked No. 2 in the state, have been named to the Division 4 All-Ohio team by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association.
First-team selections include senior pitcher Parker Riley and senior shortstop Dylan Arnold, with sophomore teammate Bryce Kennedy getting voted to the second team.
Riley was one of the top pitchers in the state this season, finishing 9-1 with a 0.84 earned run average. His only loss in the last two seasons came in the sectional final against Russia in a 10-inning marathon. And Riley went all 10.
He also held his own at the plate, hitting a team-high .553 with 37 runs scored and 38 driven in.
Arnold finished with a .489 batting average, with a team-high 43 hits, 41 runs, 39 RBIs, and 15 doubles, which led the area.
Kennedy was the area’s leader in runs batted in this season with 47. He hit .402 and scored 27 runs also.
In addition to the three Cavaliers, Minster outfielder Jon Niemeyer was a first-team selection. Niemeyer leads the Wildcats into the state semifinals on Friday morning against top-ranked Toronto after leading the team with a .373 average during the regular season.
There were three other area players joining Kennedy on the second team in New Bremen infielder Luke Vonderhaar, Riverside infielder Caleb Stevens and Riverside utility player Tyler Sanford.
Vonderhaar had an outstanding season for the Cardinals, hitting .514. Stevens led the area in hitting this season with a .582 average, and Sanford hit .395 for the Pirates.
Meanwhile, in Division 2, Anna senior infielder Colin Wuebker was named to the second team after hitting .393 this season.
